Ayurvedic treatment

I just started an Ayurvedic treatment to balance my doshas and eliminate toxins from my body. The process has two phases: a 10-day intensive treatment — very strict in both diet and schedule, with different kinds of natural medicines — and a 4-month follow-up phase where I’ll simply take natural pills daily to continue the healing.

Since I’m already here at the yoga school, I decided it was the perfect moment to begin. That means eating only rice and dhal every single day — no exceptions, no snacks between meals. I have to admit, it’s just the first day and I’m already feeling a bit desperate. People might say, “Come on, it’s just 10 days,” and they’re right… but at the same time, I can’t go to a café to enjoy something different, even if it’s healthy. No exotic juices, no fruits — even though we usually think of them as healthy, I can’t eat them during this treatment.

It’s such a strict 10-day routine, especially combined with the yoga course. It’s not easy, but complaining without trying to improve things isn’t an option for me — so here I go. I might lose some weight during this period, but that’s okay. I actually gained a bit during my previous travels, so losing some now feels like a healthy balance.

Will the treatment work? Can natural medicines really bring such a change to the body? I guess I’ll find out. At least I’m giving nature a real chance — instead of relying on modern chemicals that might solve one problem but silently create two more.
