No more walking meditation…

Yesterday’s meditation at the beach was pure magic. We were running late because I had to teach a class, and on the way we saw this massive fireball dipping slowly between the clouds and into the ocean. When we arrived, my meditation teacher and I ran to catch the final seconds of sunlight before it disappeared completely into the sea.

We continued walking along the sand, and he decided to do a walking meditation. But then he told me, half laughing, half serious: ‘’No more walking meditation for you, you get too distracted.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. Who wouldn’t be distracted by that sky? The colors were unreal! Warm pinks, golden oranges, deep purples. Even the picture I took without filters doesn’t capture what it truly was.

I felt overwhelming gratitude. My smile wouldn’t leave my face. The sound of the waves, the gentle wind, the silhouettes of people, a child running after his dad, dogs playing, a woman meditating by the water. It was perfect.

And yet, deep inside, I felt something missing. I missed sharing that beauty with my loved ones. Whenever I feel so much peace and love, my heart immediately goes to the people I love back home. Somehow, their presence makes these moments even more beautiful.
